Leading Kids Worldwide to Know, Love and Serve Christ

Awana helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. Our programs offer a proven approach for evangelizing and discipling kids in the church and community.

As a ministry leader for nearly 60 years, Awana is making an impact. A recent national survey found Awana to be as important to our alumni's spiritual foundation as all other church activities combined. Among alumni who participated in our programs for at least six years, 92.7 percent still attend church at least weekly as adults!

Each week, more than one million kids ages 2 to 18 participate in Awana. Over 12,000 churches in the U.S. and 6,500 internationally run Awana programs that change young lives through biblical truth.

The Awana program consists of 3 parts:

  • Singing and Lessons from the Bible that apply to the child’s life

  • Team Games played on the Awana Circle, teaching good sportsmanship and “just plain fun”

  • Small Groups focusing on memorizing and understanding Bible verses and completing handbooks.

During the school year, Awana is in full gear. Sparks is for boys and girls 5 years of age through 2nd grade. Truth and Training (T&T) is for boys and girls 3rd through 6th grades. To add to the fun, awards can be earned and special theme nights are planned.

Our Awana Club is unique in that … we are able to give personal attention – expressing the love of Christ – to each child that comes.

Junior High Youth:  The Junior High Youth meet from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM on Wednesdays at the Church – also! (For more information on the Junior High Youth contact Jessica Crehan.)

Manning Public School Good News Club: Manning Public School Good News Club is sponsored by our Church. It meets every Friday from 2:45 PM – 4:15 PM in the school cafeteria when there is school in session. The goal of this Club is to reach boys and girls with the “Good News” of the Gospel of Christ and then to help them grow in their faith. This goal is accomplished through … Singing – Bible Stories – Small Group Time and Story Review Games.

Every child who attends must be registered with a signed parental permission slip. The Child’s teacher must also be notified of their attendance.

Vacation Bible School: Vacation Bible School is in the month of June. This year, 2010, V.B.S. will be held June 21st – 25th from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM . The theme will be … “Empowered by the SON.”  It is for ages … 4 years old by September 1, 2010 thru 8th grade.

Each night there will be Singing, Cool Crafts, Bible Stories, and Scripture Memorization along with prizes, games, and delicious snacks. There is no required cost for those who attend. More details to follow for each specific age group.

Moms and Dads … why not put this fantastic week on your calendar now for your child to attend?
